1628cc, manual. This handsome Citroën AC4 is a Slough-built “Torpedo” convertible, soon approaching its 100th birthday, and described by the vendor as “not slow”. He purchased it via ACA in April and reports that it will cruise at 45-50mph. A few months ago it received a workshop fettle before being leased to Netflix, and today there are no known faults. It has apparently been an instant starter, easy to use and own – in the vendor’s words, it’s a "proper nice thing!"
It certainly appears to have been well looked after over the years, and comes with a good collection of invoices and correspondences. These indicate a restoration in the 1970s which included a new aluminium body (costing over £10k) followed by a rebuild of the 1628cc 30HP engine in the 1990s, together with refurbishment of the chassis and running gear.
A box of spares is also included, with documents also comprising the car's buff logbook from the 1950s and a collection of restoration photos and old MoT certificates going back to 1980. It was last put through an MoT in 2012, which it passed without advisories, showing 2963 miles on the odometer. Today that figure is 4694. Its first registered was on 15th May 1929.
